About this deal

Fresh new colorways and cutting edge tech come together in the Adrenaline GTS 21 delivering the adaptive support and ideal softness you know and love. A 10k was their maiden voyage. The drop and firmness took some getting used to. I appreciated their width because it prevented the usual tightness I experience in the midfoot. Upon slipping them on for the first time I noticed how wide they felt. There was no tightness experienced. They had a firmness to them I wasn’t used to.

Everyone’s gait is slightly different, but there are four main types of running styles and pronation: We position the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 in our Float Experience category because the cushioning feels soft, plush and forgiving underfoot. This means they’re most suited to slower to steady paced runs and are an excellent choice for long distance runs. It’s for these reasons that the Adrenaline GTS are very popular marathon running shoes. If you’re looking for maximum cushioning, you may want to consider the Brooks Glycerin franchise. This shoe weighs a little more than average, without being among the heaviest. On the scales, it shows 294g. They have a high drop of 12 mm, which absorbs the impact on the ground. Comfort is also improved by 3D Fit Print and DNA LOFT technology. The latter was designed by the brand to adapt to the stride of the runner, cushioning it while providing comfort. The cushioning should adapt to the stride, speed and weight of the runner. The latter does not compromise the lightness of the shoe. An interesting model in the same price range is the Glycerin 18. Cushioned Running Shoes: Best Price U.K. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS is one of our most popular running shoes at Run4It. They might just be one of the best stability running shoes ever made. Now on its 23rd edition, the latest Brooks Adrenaline features the most cushioned underfoot feel to date. This is because the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 has been updated with DNA LOFT v2.

Want to see even more running shoes? We have plenty for you to browse, including men’s and women’s running trainers. Running shoes are specifically created to be breathable and flexible while providing support and bounce to optimise your run, so we recommend taking your time and finding the right pair for you. Believing that the ‘correct’ way to run is simply your natural way, Brooks developed their Guiderail technology to support those with a tendency to overpronation and heel strikers, hoping to keep them safe from injury whilst allowing them to keep running in their own way.

Segmented crash pad flexes with the foot, offering customized cushioning and stability for a smooth heel-to-toe transition. If you’re familiar with and/or a fan of the Adrenaline 21 you don’t need to read the rest of this review; it’s the same excellent shoe it’s always been. If you’re new to the model it’s a wonderfully cushioned, almost old-school running shoe that has a high heel to toe drop (12mm), weighs a little on the heavy side and is generally the perfect long-run shoe for those who simply want the most reliability and the least fuss for their long runs. Lofty ambitionThere is a reason it has the GTS (Go To Shoe) label. It is a simple, reliable, and highly enjoyable shoe to run in. The transition of the shoe also feels smoother than the previous Adrenaline GTS 19 and 20 models that I’ve tried, partly thanks to the added cushioning. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 is a moderate feature, maximum support shoe designed for daily training and high mileage. Although a great shoe, and one I’ll continue to use, the shoe is not perfect. There are two main negatives that linger in my mind. The biggest issue for me was the 12mm drop.

Most of the immediate issues such as slightly rigid landing, limited breathability, and tightness in the forefoot began to disappear after 20 miles or so as I wore in the shoes and only got better from there. But for some runners, this is simply too long a wait to keep faith. The upper of the Adrenaline aided in providing stability. The heel counter is a strength of the upper. It was cushioned and held my feet in place. During gait analysis you will be asked to walk and run on our in-store treadmill whilst your movements are recorded using the latest Daftfish software. A slow-motion, detailed analysis will show and explain your biomechanics, specifically looking at pronation, the inward-turning movement that occurs when your foot touches the ground. During walking and running this acts as cushioning for the body.

We’re coming to the end of our Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 review – so, what are the key takeaways, and who should/shouldn’t buy them? To explain further, the extra support won’t inhibit you if you don’t need it. At the same time, if your feet start to roll in further, the support guides your ankles and knees through a better path. In fact, Brooks’ research showed them that this style of support is the best way to reduce knee problems during running. As the support helps you when required, it works well for runners whose left and right legs move in distinct ways from one another. For example, you may only get one sore knee during a run. The fit on the bridge of my foot felt a little too snug at first, but once I started moving, I was pleasantly surprised at how the gusseted tongue and laces flexed as my foot did, allowing for a nice smooth transition by preventing any restriction, rubbing or tightness.
