The difference between the dark and the ultra dark shades is the level of DHA contained within it. As I said above, DHA is the ingredient that tans the skin. In short, the higher the DHA level (the ingredient that tans the skin), the more expensive it is to manufacture. If you look at other tan brands, their ultra dark shade will always be that little bit more expensive than their dark or medium shades for this reason. If I’m going away on holiday, what I like to do is apply a really good layer of ultra dark mousse the night before I go. I then bring the medium lotion with me to keep my tan topped up while I’m away.
